17th April Update on filming (explains
setting changes) (video clip to accompany)
Today we got our two characters ivy and Alexia, Becky
and Laura to come round to my house to film us all getting ready for the party.
We used Anastazja
to play the part of Ezra. We made many changes to the script today by changing
characters around and the lines everyone says. Certain lines had to change on
the basis of props available as well, for example we used Malibu and pineapple instead
of vodka and coke. This is the scene in which Rose and Maddie continue their
walk home from school and get ready for the party at Maddie’s house with their
other friend coming over to join. We changed our setting for this as well as
the walking home and entering the house was originally going to be shot at Laurens
house (Maddie) but instead was shot it at my house (Rose) but in the film it’s still
Maddie’s house. The inside of the party was supposed to be shot at my house
posing as Roses house and then the outside at Laurens (Maddie) posing as the outside
of my house (rose) and still looking like Roses
house, instead we filmed the whole party at Laurens (Maddie’s) but in
the film it will be known as Rose’s house. The bathroom scene at the beginning
and end was supposed to be filmed in my bathroom leading out of my room but
because we filmed us getting ready there we could not have Rose washing her
hands in the same place as she is supposed to be at her own house after the party
and not back in Maddie’s house. So instead we used my other bathroom in my house
which in the film is Maddie’s house but posed it as Roses house for the film. Running
outside was also shot by my house, when it was going to be shot in the
Chippenham layby but we could not get to that location. But being by my house
which in the film is posing as Maddie’s house it’s supposed to look like outside
of Laurens house (Maddie) whose house in the film is mine (Rose). The first
scene within school was filmed originally. So as you can see it has all become
very confusing but we understand the changes and think it flows to the audience
and it is clear that they are at school, go to Maddie’s to get ready, then Roses
house for the party and outside her house when the worst begins. We did notice
that I (Rose) open the door to Maddie’s house and she leaves the door open as
we enter, this minor mistake doesn’t notice too much but we fear it may confuse
the audience a little.
Filming with our friends was easy as they are also
media students in our year that attend our school so they knew the brief we had
to meet and being our friends they knew our thriller. When filming the outside
part leading up to the door it was very successful and was filmed fairly quickly
with only a couple of bloopers and mistakes. When inside the first part of filming
of me and Lauren in the kitchen and up the stairs went smoothly but as soon as
the picture had to fall out of my bag it took a very long time to accomplish it
to fall out correctly and then zoom in, in the end we used two separate shots
of the picture falling out of my bag and then the camera onto of the shot so the
audience can clearly see it. The dialogue went considerably smoothly as well,
it wasn’t until the end where we all come together it took longer but we managed
to get all the clips we needed.
