Update: 23rd April
In today double lesson we have continued to do editing,
however we keep having problems with adding transactions which is annoying as
this is the only part of the editing we have left. But on the positive side the
whole thriller looks good. We were planning to re shoot one of the first scenes
where Rose and Maddie are walking home after school, however we chose not to,
because of the weather and we felt that the part where the car drives across
the road isn’t so important, so we’ve decided to cut it out. This means that
our thriller is 4 minutes and 20 seconds so far. We also though about all the
last editing and shots that we have to create, and we realised that we still
need to add the credits and our production logos and company title, which we
also filmed in the lesson. We decided to call our production company name “notebook
production”. We wanted to make this part interesting and unique so filmed
Jordan writing the production name on a note pad, which we all though worked
very effectively.
We also created the company’s production name and logo that we filmed on the white board. We wrote ‘Lord Stanowska presents’, but Lauren filmed the part where I wrote the word ‘production’ on the white board. We felt that these two really worked together and fitted in well with the theme of our thriller.
Credits, production titles and company names are very important when creating any type of thriller, so it was very important for us to include this in our thriller. As we've watched many thrillers at the beginning on this unit, which have given us different ideas and what works best. For example we looked at 'Lock, Stock and Two smoking barrels', which we've felt that was mostly relevant and similar to our thriller. Tomorrow we add these onto the beginning of our thriller and try work out how to add the transactions, because it’s very important that we show different techniques that we’ve used on our thriller.
